[Spanish] Usage of imperfect tense / 線過去の用法 [スペイン語]

El imperfecto indica una acción en el pasado que no se sabe cuando comenzó y terminó. Es un tiempo descriptivo, describe clima, hora, fecha, día, edad, etapas de la vida, habitos o eventos. (Imperfect tense expresses an accion in the past which begining and ending are not definite. it describes climate, time, date, age, stages of lifetime, habits and events. / 線過去は開始と終了がはっきりしない過去の動作を表す。天気、日時、年齢、人生における期間、習慣、出来事などを述べる。)

1. Expresa la edad en el pasado con el verbo "tener." (It expresses age in the past with the verb "tener." / "tener"を用い、過去における年齢を表す。)

Cuando yo tenía diez años, estaba en la escuela. (When I was 10 years old, I was in the school. / 10歳の頃、学校にいた。)

2. Expresa la fecha y la hora en el pasado con el verbo "ser." (It expresses date and time in the past with the verb "ser." / "ser"を用い、過去における日付や時間を表す。)

Eran las 10 de la noche cuando me dormí. (It was 10pm when I slept. / 寝たのは10時だった。)

3. Expresa periodo específico de la vida con el verbos ""ser."" (It expresses such a specific period of lifetime with the verb ""ser."" / ""ser""を用い、人生における特定の期間を表す。)

Cuando yo era niña, tenía muchas amigas. (When I was a kid, I had many friends. / 子供の頃、たくさん友だちがいた。)

4. Se usa para narrar cuantos o leyendas. (It is used to narrate tales or legends. / 昔話を述べる際に用いられる。)

Había una vez, una niña… (Once upon a time, a girl... / 昔むかしあるところに少女がいました…)

5. La acción del imperfecto termina con un verbo en pretérito. (An action of preterite tense may happen in the middle of action of imperfect tense. / 線過去の動作の発生中、点過去の動作が起こる。)

Juan miraba la televisión cuando se fue la luz. (Juan was watching TV when blackout occurred. / 停電した時、ファンはテレビを見ていた。)
Mientras dormía, tembló. (While I was sleeping, an earthquake occured. / 就寝中、地震があった。)

Pay attention to the position of time expression / 時間表現の位置に注意
(OK) Mientras yo dormía anoche, tembló.
(NG) Anoche mientras yo dormía, tembló.

6. Se usa para describir a personas, animales, y cosas que ya no existen. (It is used to describe people, animals and things which do not existe any more. / もはや存在しない人、動物、事柄を叙述する際に用いられる。)

El perro de mi hermano tenía las orejas muy grandes. (My sister's dog had very big ears. / 姉の犬の耳は大きかった。)
A mi amigo le gustaba el chocolate. (My friend liked chocolate. / 友達はチョコレートが好きだった。)

7. Con el verbo "ir" en imperfecto + a + infinitivo, pero... (It is used in this constructure. / この形式で用いられる。)

Anoche iba a llamar por teléfono, pero no tenía el numéro. (Yesterday, I was going to call, but I didn't have the telefone number. / 昨日電話しようとしたが、電話番号を知らなかった。)
